Description

Clients increasingly bring spiritual language, somatic experiences, intuitive insights, and existential questions into the therapy room. While these dimensions are deeply human and clinically relevant, they also present significant ethical and boundary considerations for mental health professionals. This training provides clinicians with a clear, licensure-defensible framework for understanding and integrating energy awareness and transpersonal perspectives in psychotherapy without engaging in spiritual authority, metaphysical interpretation, or non-clinical practices. Ethics & Energy Work in Clinical Practice is the foundational training course in a new professional education series offered through the Center for Intuitive Practices. This course serves as the required first training for the Certified Intuitive Practitioner™ (CIP) Certification, officially launching in June 2026. This inaugural training establishes the ethical, clinical, and professional container for all subsequent coursework in the certification pathway. This course is designed to ensure that clinicians develop intuitive and energy-aware skills within scope of practice, licensure standards, and trauma-informed care, before advancing into deeper applications. By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Define energy work and transpersonal psychology within a clinically ethical framework.

  • Differentiate therapeutic presence from non-clinical spiritual or healing practices.

  • Apply ethical decision-making models to spiritually-oriented clinical material.

  • Assess client readiness for transpersonal or energy-informed interventions.

  • Maintain clear scope of practice, informed consent, and documentation standards.

  • Recognize risks related to suggestibility, dissociation, spiritual bypassing, and power dynamics.
