Dream Work in Clinical Practice (6 hours)
This LIVE online course, via Zoom, fulfills the requirements for SIX CE hours (6 hours). Friday, July 10th, 8:30 am EST - 4:00 pm EST.
Unlock the clinical and intuitive power of dreams in therapy. Dreams are more than stories, they are expressions of the brain’s emotional processing, symbolic communication, and adaptive healing system. This innovative training provides clinicians with a structured, ethical, and evidence-informed approach to integrating dream interpretation into clinical practice and EMDR therapy. Whether you are new to dream work or looking to deepen your clinical and intuitive skills, this training offers a clear, practical, and ethically grounded framework you can immediately apply with clients. This 6-hour continuing education course bridges: ✔ Jungian dream theory ✔ Trauma-informed care ✔ EMDR (AIP model integration) ✔ Expressive arts and intuitive clinical approaches ✔ Cultural and spiritual humility in dream exploration. Participants will learn how to explore dreams in a way that is client-centered, clinically sound, and deeply meaningful, without imposing interpretation or stepping outside professional scope of practice. By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Describe historical, cultural, and theoretical foundations of dream interpretation in clinical practice.
Explain the neuroscience of dreaming and its relationship to emotional processing and memory integration.
Apply ethical decision-making models to spiritually-oriented clinical material.
Apply Jungian concepts including archetypes, shadow material, and symbolic meaning in a clinical context.
Identify different types of dreams (trauma, release, compensatory, and problem-solving) and their clinical relevance.
Utilize structured methods for dream exploration, including amplification, journaling, expressive arts, and guided imagery.
Integrate dream material into EMDR therapy using the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model.
Use dreams as: EMDR targets, floatback bridges to earlier memories, indicators of ongoing processing, future templates, resourcing, etc.
Apply ethical standards from ACA, APA, NASW, and EMDRIA when working with dream material.
Facilitate dream exploration in a culturally responsive, client-led, and trauma-informed manner.
No EMDR Therapy Training Required – These programs are open to all clinicians including those with no prior EMDR training.
This workshop is NOT an EMDR Therapy Basic/Foundational Training. If you have no prior EMDR training, it is recommended you complete the full EMDR Therapy basic/foundational training and have experience using EMDR before using the materials from this training [that are EMDR Therapy specific].
Eligibility for EMDRIA Credits is restricted to those who have completed an EMDRIA-Approved Basic EMDR Training. Attendees with no prior EMDR training are not eligible to receive EMDRIA Credits.
